Where is In Shifra’s Arms (ISA) located? ISA is led and managed by
volunteers from Virginia, DC and Maryland, hosts a toll-free Helpline (1-888-360-5872), and
meets with clients at convenient locations for them.

Is ISA only for Jewish women? No. We will help anyone who calls, regardless of their religious affiliations. However, we are primarily reaching out in the Jewish community because this need is not being met by any other agency in the Jewish community.
Does ISA take a position on abortion? ISA is a non-political, non-denominational organization and does not take a political stance on abortion in American or Jewish law. Our volunteers and Board members come from a variety of political perspectives. We come together to make sure no woman feels that abortion is her only option because of a lack of
resources or social support.
Who are the ISA Helpline counselors? ISA Helpline Counselors are volunteers who have undergone extensive training by the Director and a licensed social worker.
