There are women who are satisfied with adoption primarily because they are clear that they are not ready/willing to raise a child at this stage in their life and they are happy with the family that they choose to raise their child. We recommend that anyone considering this option both obtain counseling from adoption professionals as well as make an alternate plan for raising their child. The choice of adoption, when a woman is given the appropriate amount of support, can be empowering and loving. Yet it is also inherently challenging.
