Allan and Howie

Our names are Allan and Howie. We have been in a loving relationship of ten years. We live in the suburbs of Long Island in a family neighborhood where many children play and in an area with many parks and playgrounds and an excellent school system. We have one child, Joshua, who we recently adopted. We would love to adopt another child and Joshua would love to have a brother or sister.

We are nurturing, loving individuals who work with children on a daily basis. Allan has been in charge of 307 students as an assistant principal, won Teacher of the Year, and was given an award from the Mayor. Howie went to Harvard College and Columbia Medical School and is an eye doctor. Allan went to St. John’s University.

We are caring soul mates who want to share our good fortune with a child. We love movies, traveling, theater, tennis, watching television, doing crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble.We share our home with our dog, Sammy, who is a Maltese and has human-like hair so children aren’t allergic to him. He is so adorable, loves to be cuddled and never barks…. And he loves children.

We both come from traditional Jewish families and would raise our child in a Conservative synagogue. Our families are active in our community synagagues. Our parents, brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews are very supportive of the adoption. They are wonderful family members who are looking forward to becoming grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins once again. Eight waiting cousins are anxiously waiting for another new cousin to play with. They range in ages from 5 to 25. Their names are Owen, Andrew, Joseph, Amber, David, Adrielle, Cambria, Nicole and Benjamin. We love biblical names because Judaism is very important to us as well as our families’ tradition. Most of our friends are married couples with children. We are surrounded by many women who are great maternal role models.

We know you want the make the choice about your pregnancy that is right for you. We also know there are many people waiting to adopt. Moreover, we are a same-sex couple and that may have you concerned. We understand this and would be honored if you considered making us to the adoptive parents for your child.
