We are the only organization in the United States focused on providing services to Jewish women facing unplanned pregnancy, but will help ANY woman seeking our services We believe it is important to let Jewish women know about the support available for parenting and about the thousands of Jewish families who would love to adopt.
We have no financial incentive in promoting adoption. We are not an adoption agency. We do make referrals to various adoption resources, just as we can refer to resources that can help you raise your child.
ISA does no political lobbying and takes no stand on Jewish halacha (law) or American legal issues surrounding abortion. We welcome volunteers with varying views on abortion, provided that they believe that women facing crisis pregnancies should be offered and given the help they need to continue their pregnancies, give birth and build a positive future for themselves and their child- whether they choose parenting or adoption.
We were founded as a charity to provide Jewish women with unplanned pregnancies the support they need to carry their pregnancies to term. Therefore, we do not perform abortions or referrals for them. We are open to speaking with pregnant women (or their partners, family, friends) regardless of their feelings about or plans for their pregnancy. We know that women can find abortion services if they choose to do so and will treat them with respect whatever they decide and throughout their decision process. We do make referrals for rabbinic advice and post-abortion counseling if appropriate.
